Yeah, we had a number in my heowtomn growing up, which was known as Time & Temperature. It gave you the you know, time and temperature when you called. And one day, by pure happenstance, my buddys phone line got crossed with the Time & Temp number. So for a good portion of that day, we took calls and told people the time and temperature. Of course, the time we got pretty much right. But the temp, we didnt know. So wed make up figures that sounded good at the moment (in a range, as I recall, from 60 degrees to 120 degrees). And sometimes wed just talk to people who called. Like, Time & Temperature, may I help you? Theyd invariably flounder for a moment or two before haltingly asking for the time and the temperature. Those were heady days, my friends, heady days.
